After four months into the locking process I decided I was not totally happy with the size nor the number & noticeable
build-up that can be seen at intervals where my locs were retwisted. Mind you, I do wash my locs semi-monthly! Im taking my locs down and I have a few stragglers that refuse to untangle. Do you have a product that will safely untangle without resulting to cutting them back to the new growth so that I can retain my 3inches of hair?

Hey Alana,
I have come cross a few clients who deliberately took down their dreads with some cheap conditioner and hot oil. My products are primarily used as a dreadlocking agent to assist with the maturing process. Instead of taking them down, & unless they werent interlocked, we could eventually move them around to position them where they are naturally suppose to be a few hairs at a time. This may take a few visits. Some clients demand styled-sectioned off parts that typically are a nuisance for other locticians who have to go back behind the work of previous stylists. Do remember, your hair has its own pre-determined sections of hairs that grow out of the head in a natural pattern called grafts. It is easy to pattern locs this way if the clients allows them to progress by leaving the locs alone between visits. If you start out with a hundred little starter locs you may end up with only 75 by the time your dreads have matured. They tend to double, triple and quadruple up together in mass. This is natural. Palmrolling should help to keep them from becoming too thick and swarthy. As far as the buildup, this comes from putting things on the hair that it cant use. Hair is an organic. You cant ingest gel or petroleum so why put it in the hair. It will only sit on the scalp and cause dandruff, itching and flaking. Traditionally when cultivating dreads, consider a certified natural oil, butter or emollient like shea butter, olive oil or something along those lines. Basically anything that you could put into your structure.
thanks Bornu
