I recently purchase #1B/30. On your recommendation that it can be colored, i tried because I wanted it to be lighter.
I was very disappointed to find out that the hair cannot be colored or bleached which means that it isnt 100% human hair which was why I purchased in the first place.

$40 is a lot of money to pay for a bag of hair compared to the cost of a $5 bottle of hair color purchased from a store. I would imagine that if I wanted to go from a darker color to a lighter color then why not simply order a lighter color of hair instead of experimenting with what could possibly turn into a costly irreparable mistake. Was the color done by a licensed professional colorist? Most colorist would assure you that going from dark to light requires multiple applications before you can get the desired effect. What level volume developer did you use? Was it a reputable brand? Was it permanent or temporary? If you used styling agents or commercial products that contain base ingredients like petroleum or mineral oil on your hair they definitely would inhibit the coloring process from lifting or depositing into the hair shaft. Locs are thick. Loc extensions are thicker making it very difficult to lift hair color with just one application. Using bleach to lift any hair type is not recommended because it is damaging. I have addressed on many occasions for customers looking to get my bornu locs and who ask about coloring them in the future, I remind them that unless you are determined on lifting up color to go from black or brown to blond you would rather need to replace the hair with a lighter color. But to go from lighter colors to reds or darker colors simply needs depositing the color which is so much easier than lifting.
